Some infant sleep experts provide dangerous advice that increases the risk of sudden infant death syndrome.
HOLLISTER An investigation is underway into the unexpected death of a 9-month-old infant in Hollister, police said. The Hollister Police Department said it received an emergency call around 7:50 a.m. Thursday, reporting an unresponsive infant with no pulse and no signs of breathing. Officers arrived at the undisclosed address to find the infant unconscious, not breathing and without a pulse, police said. The infant was taken to an area hospital, where they were pronounced dead, police said.
The termination of the Safe to Sleep campaign, which significantly reduced infant mortality related to sleep position, demonstrates a troubling trend in the current administration's health policies.
