And although their on-field statement was a serious one, the Tigers also added a more playful swing on social media after the game. Once the victory was sealed, Memphis took to X to post the final score ... and take a shot at Arkansas in the process.
The San Francisco 49ers moved to 2-0 after defeating the New Orleans Saints 26-21 on the road. New Orleans had a chance at taking the lead late, regaining possession with 2:40 left in the fourth quarter. However, while facing a fourth-and-1 on their own 42-yard-line, Saints quarterback Spencer Rattler was sacked, clinching the 49ers victory. Starting in place of Brock Purdy, San Francisco quarterback Mac Jones had 279 passing yards with three touchdowns.
The Pittsburgh Steelers hung on to defeat the New York Jets in Aaron Rodgers' return to MetLife Stadium. In a matchup that included seven lead changes, Steelers kicker Chris Boswell secured the win when he nailed a 60-yarder to give them the lead with 1:02 left in the game. Rodgers threw for 244 yards and four touchdowns in the 34-32 win, while Jets quarterback Justin Fields -- who started six games for Pittsburgh last season -- accounted for 266 yards and three touchdowns.
