Cost of looking after kids in summer holidays causing concern among grandparents

A quarter of grandparents are concerned about the cost of looking after their grandchildren this summer, with 53 percent planning to step in to provide care. More than 21 per day is spent by grandparents on average for each child, which has increased from 15.80 per day last year. Given financial pressures, 12 percent will care for grandchildren every day, while 33 percent plan to assist two to three times weekly.
