This is a construction project for a new, two-storey wooden daycare centre, replacing a nursery built approximately 50 years ago. This project was secured through a selective tender process. In recent years, it has become increasingly challenging for design firms to secure public building projects. This tender system enables us to take on projects of a manageable scale, allowing us to enhance our expertise and build valuable experience.
Dubbed Casetta Tessino, a tiny and modern treehouse by Olin Petzold stands in the woods of Valle Onsernone, Switzerland. Completed in early 2024, the elevated timber structure sits apart from an existing house on a steep, forested plot near the village of Loco, positioned as a place for writing and short-term retreat. The commission came from a Swiss artist and climate activist seeking a secluded writer's workspace away from the main house.
Along the northern coast of Norway, the Lofoten archipelago extends into the sea, looking outward to the peaks, fjords, and inlets shaped by ice and wind. On Storemolla island, Danish design brand Vipp has unveiled its latest guesthouse - a timber structure designed by LOGG ARKITEKTER that perches lightly atop an array of stilts above the shoreline. Part of the new True North Lofoten Village, the cabin joins a series of contemporary lodgings masterplanned by Snøhetta, where architecture and landscape coexist in deliberate balance.
