"I wasn't thinking about that," he said. "I was just thinking about, 'I put the points on the board for the team.' ... I ain't worried about the stats. We've got to do better on the football field. We've got to come out and win. That's what I was most focused on, just doing my job and having the other guys do their job and we come out on top."
Hunter entered the NFL trying to do what few other have done before him -- play both offense and defense on a full-time basis. While the Jaguars are still trying to figure out the former Heisman winner's workload in the NFL, Hunter's versatility is revered around the league. In honor of Hunter's first appearance on "Monday Night Football" against the Kansas City Chiefs ( 8:15 p.m. ET, ABC/ESPN), we asked our 32 NFL reporters to find the best player on every team who could have the skills to be a two-way player.
"I'd say you're much more like Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani's hitting and pitching for the Los Angeles Dodgers is unparalleled since the early days of Babe Ruth, one of the great contemporary wonders of any professional sport. He was a phenomenon from the moment he stepped on the diamond in 2013. Hunter, 22, is three games into his NFL career as a cornerback and wide receiver and there are no guarantees he'll reach anywhere near the two-way superstardom the way Ohtani has in major league baseball."
