Trevor Richards is now with his third organization of the season, having also spent time with the Royals and Cubs. He tossed three big league innings with Kansas City but was tagged for four runs in that small sample.

For the Royals, there's no harm in adding another arm on a minor league deal. Their bullpen is in good shape this year, with a collective 2.93 ERA, fifth-best in the majors.

Despite his inconsistent control, Trevor Richards, who was released by the Cubs after a rough stint in Triple-A, could still find another minor league opportunity.
