Just a few weeks into the Knights first season, the city of Seattle came together with the Oak View Group to renovate KeyArena, making it possible place for an NHL team. A year after that, the NHL approved Seattle as an expansion into the league, with them starting their inaugural season in 2021.

One of those minor league teams is the Las Vegas Aviators, the AAA (the highest level of minor league baseball and basically their "AHL") affiliate of the Oakland A's. The Aviators are paying tribute to the city's NHL team, the Golden Knights, with a giveaway on their September 18th game.
