Rivian has partnered with the emerging Ionna DC fast charging network to enable plug-and-charge functionality for R1T and R1S owners. This development means drivers can simply plug their vehicles into Ionna stations, and charging will begin automatically after setting up payment in the app. Currently, the Ionna network has 12 stations with high-capacity chargers, and the goal is to expand to 30,000 charging bays by 2030. Rivian also maintains its own charging networks, emphasizing a commitment to flexibility for electric vehicle users.
Ionna charging network will allow Rivian R1T and R1S owners plug-and-charge access at 12 US stations, enhancing convenience for road trips.
Rivian continues to invest in its own charging infrastructure while promoting an open ecosystem through partnerships like the one with Ionna.
