Mandiant's report highlights a campaign that simulates legitimate AI tools, luring users to fake sites where malicious payloads, including infostealers and backdoors, are deployed. Notably, over 30 such malicious ads have been identified, particularly on Facebook, reaching millions, including 2.3 million in the EU alone. Users are warned to verify the authenticity of AI tools to prevent becoming victims of this ongoing threat linked to Vietnamese cybercriminals.
