celeste boursier-mougenot turns bourse de commerce into immersive aquatic soundscape
Briefly

Céleste Boursier-Mougenot's clinamen transforms the Bourse de Commerce in Paris into an immersive soundscape, featuring ceramic bowls and water. On display until September 21, 2025, this installation combines art and architecture, utilizing the vast rotunda and its glass dome to create a multisensory experience that merges sound and movement. With a diameter of 18 meters, the basin reflects the skies and produces melodic chimes as the bowls drift on its surface. This iteration is the most ambitious to date, showcasing the unique interplay of the installation with the museum's architecture.
This exceptional version of clinamen at the Bourse de Commerce doubles the size of the basin of the largest installations built to date.
I see the architecture of each new exhibition venue as a matrix into which the technical and aesthetic principles of the installation are cast, as if into a mould.
