A section of the Eiffel Tower's helical staircase is being auctioned, with a pre-sale estimate of $46,000-$58,000.
The foundation's collection is exceptionally large, encompassing more than 10,000 items-including thousands of drawings, over 400 sculptures, 100 paintings, a whole collection of decorative objets d'art, prints, everything that was in the studio, all the archives. Most of the collection has never been exhibited.
Paris is a city designed for strolling, with its grand boulevards, photogenic buildings, and hundreds of beautifully manicured parks. My biggest mistake on my first trip to Paris? I packed the wrong footwear. I visited in late May and brought an overstuffed suitcase of strappy sandals and heels. After a day of rain (leading to chafing and blisters), I popped into a few shops in the Marais and purchased comfortable sneakers and ankle boots that I wore on repeat for the rest of the trip.
Musée d'Orsay hosted an exhibit last year called "Art is in the Street," which cataloged "the spectacular rise of the illustrated poster in Paris during the second half of the 19th century." The prints were lithographs - drawings made on limestone with greasy pencils, which were then exposed to water and inverted onto sheets of paper. Typically, each color got its own stone. The finished product was a firework of oily yellows and reds.
We'd been dreaming of a girls' trip for the past two years, but nothing had ever materialized because of our clashing schedules. Luckily, though, we finally found a time when we were both available. Because we aren't huge planners, we were excited about the idea of a last-minute trip. After a truly exhilarating week, here are three things I enjoyed about the experience and three I'd do differently next time.
Though it's easily forgotten in our age of air travel and instantaneous global communication, many a great city is located where it is because of a river. That holds true everywhere from London to Buenos Aires to Tokyo to New York - and even to Los Angeles, despite its own once-uncontrollable river having long since been turned into a much-ridiculed concrete drainage channel.
I spent the first half of 2025 in Paris, and while I loved living in a walkable city overflowing with art and culture, I often found myself craving a taste of home. Fortunately, Paris has not one but two Chinatowns: Belleville and the 13th arrondissement. Belleville is an artsy, historically progressive neighborhood shaped by centuries of immigration from Europe, Africa, and Asia. At its center is Parc de Belleville, known for its rotating street art and sweeping sunset views of the Eiffel Tower.
The French weather forecaster Météo France has issued a weather warning for snow on Monday, with snowfalls predicted for Paris and much of western France. A total of 23 départements have been placed on orange alert for snow and ice including the Paris region, Brittany and Normandy and part of the west coast. Météo France is predicting up to 10cm of snow in the coastal areas of Brittany and Normandy, while the greater Paris region could get up to 5cm.
At a moment when independent cinemas across Europe are dimming their lights for good, Louis Denavaut breathes new life into the historic venue of the Elysées Lincoln cinema in Paris, France. The architect creates a sequence of atmospheres for this project, reflected in three distinct interior worlds that are clad in various materials and colors, from hushed velvet greens to saturated pinks and soft pastel tones.
This restructuring project makes it possible to intensify a strong architectural gesture - this briefly describes the basic idea of our Paris office for the renovation of the former, modernist Peugeot headquarters (architects Sainsaulieu) near the Arc de Triomphe. The project offers the central Parisian urban space an exciting 110-metre long facade. In this area, the existing concrete structure forms the backdrop for an innovative window system.
42UP: A Vertical Campus in Paris Redefining Educational Architecture. In the heart of Paris's 17th arrondissement, AR Studio d'Architectures has completed 42UP, a radical extension of Ecole 42 that doubles its capacity while minimizing its footprint. The project transforms 3,600 m into a 9,025 m vertical campus, accommodating 1,400 workstations in an institution operating 24/7, without teachers, without courses, and completely free.
Emily in Paris paints the French capital through rose-colored glasses. Just as you probably aren't prancing around New York City in Manolo Blahnik stilettos and a tutu à la Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, Parisians are much more toned-down than Emily-and you'll rarely see designer labels flashing loudly on bags or fine jewelry from the likes of Dior.

Artist Francis Bacon is known for his hell-raising antics in London, but the Dublin-born painter also had a soft spot for Paris. Following his hit exhibition at the Grand Palais in 1971 he took a a small studio apartment in the French capital. During this time Michael Peppiatt, the UK art historian who wrote Francis Bacon in Your Blood (2015), was his guide to the French capital, helping him navigate the City of Lights.
The "California Gurls" hitmaker and the longtime politician publicly debuted their relationship over the weekend, shutting down months of speculation. Perry, 41, and Trudeau, 53, were photographed holding hands during a date night in Paris on Saturday. The singer, in a red body-hugging dress, and Trudeau in a black suit were seen exiting cabaret club Crazy Horse Paris, where they celebrated Perry's birthday. Video shared by Backgrid shows Perry accepting a rose from a bystander and Trudeau placing his hand on her back as they walk to their SUV.
"One thing that I realized while writing is that heists are actually easier to execute than we see in movies and on TV shows," Piazza tells Bustle. "So I might have been the least surprised person on the planet about the Louvre heist. In fact, I felt so validated in how I executed it on the page. I also think my version is a little sexier."
Not only is it well-positioned for a trip to Paris, it also has a fabulous roof terrace bar with 360-degree views, a designer fitness room, spa treatment room, and sauna. You might never need to leave the hotel as it also boasts an in-house restaurant, Pimpan, where I enjoyed a terrific al fresco dinner in the courtyard garden. I visit Paris regularly and have stayed in multiple arrondissements, but every time I return to stay in the 6th, I'm reminded of why I love it.
Few things bring the Condé Nast Traveller team much joy as discovering a new city. We're happiest when dipping in and out of Madrid's world-class galleries, ambling along Budapest 's riverside and sampling the wares of Bruges' chocolate shops - and that's just us getting started. While you'll find most of us taking to the streets - via bakeries, bars and attractions, of course - on foot, putting our favourite pair of worn-out trainers to good use.
A few months in, and her French has barely improved, her roommates are gross and rude, and she has to work two jobs under the table to make rent. She's also making the entire United States of America look bad by insisting on making Stove Top stuffing for Thanksgiving. That is our special thing as Americans, and no European mind will ever comprehend that, Belly. You should have just made them gravy because that is at least something they all understand.
