The 39th annual Oregon Book Awards took place at Portland Center Stage, honoring local authors for their literary achievements. Michelle Sumovich won for children's literature, Rosanne Parry for middle grade and young adult literature, Leah Sottile for general nonfiction, Judith Barrington for creative nonfiction, David F. Walker for graphic literature, Jennifer Perrine for poetry, and Ling Ling Huang for fiction. Willamette Writers received the Stewart H. Holbrook Literary Legacy Award. Tom Booth was also recognized for his long career at Oregon State University Press, while Kimberly King Parsons hosted the event.
