Jake Haro, 32, pleaded guilty in October to the second-degree murder of his seven-month-old son, Emmanuel. He received consecutive sentences totaling more than 30 years: seven years and two months for probation violations and other charges, plus 25 years to life for assault on a child under eight. A months-long investigation has failed to locate the child's remains. The couple initially reported a kidnapping outside a store in August, saying Rebecca Haro was attacked and left unconscious while changing the boy's diaper. The couple were arrested at their Cabazon home after inconsistencies emerged. Rebecca Haro, 41, has pleaded not guilty and is held on $1 million bail. Haro was also ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution and previously faced a child endangerment plea related to severe injuries to a daughter.
