Game finally up for legendary Kilkenny hurler, who will be sentenced on Monday after he conned several people into giving him thousands of euro for what he said was cancer treatment. There was a brief moment, just before he was taken into custody, when a startled-looking DJ Carey seemed to realise his time was up. Judge Martin Nolan had just announced that he would pass his sentence on Monday, and that the accused would be remanded until then.

Cambridgeshire police said Lee White sent 109 messages to Dr Rosena Allin-Khan, the MP for Tooting in south London, over a four-day period between 29 August and 1 September 2024. White, 52, was arrested at his home in Littleport, Cambridgeshire, on 4 September last year. Police said the messages contained racial abuse and threats to kill Keir Starmer and cabinet ministers.

Outlining the facts of the case, prosecutor Matthew Jolliffe said the defendant entered Comptoir Cafe and Wine in Mayfair in the early hours of May 1 and made off with several bottles of wine valued at 6,000 and 200 cash from the till. On May 13, and June 8, he attended Oliveto and Olivo on Elizabeth Street in Belgravia and took multiple bottles of wine and cash.

Derbyshire Police said Diontai Simpson sent out "three to four messages per day" to prospective customers in Derby and Manchester. The 23-year-old, previously of Venwood Road in Prestwich, Manchester, admitted three counts of supplying cannabis, cocaine and heroin. He was sentenced at Derby Crown Court on Wednesday. Derbyshire Police said Simpson was arrested by officers who stopped a suspicious vehicle on Osmaston Road in Derby on 21 November last year. They found Class B drugs in the vehicle, and after searching an address, they discovered cannabis, cocaine, cash "and drug dealing paraphernalia such as weighing scales".

MARTINEZ - A Concord man in his late 30s has been sentenced to 13 years in state prison for raping a 13-year-old girl, a crime he allegedly tried to cover up by threatening to kill the victim or have her deported. Macario Cucul-Maaz, 39, pleaded no contest to a child rape charge and was sentenced in late June, court records show. He is currently housed at North Kern State Prison.

The 2020 shooting death of 37-year-old Charles Scrappy King Jr. had gone unsolved for years, but in 2024 a man facing federal gun charges in Stockton agreed to tell police who had done it. It was Lil Bubba, the eyewitness told authorities, who'd shot a belligerent Scrappy as the victim was bragging about having killed Mini Jug in the same area weeks earlier, according to court records.
