Mohamad Lilo accepted a plea deal, pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit kidnapping of his ex-girlfriend Elnaz Hajtamiri, resulting in the dropping of murder charges. He was sentenced to four years in prison. Lilo was also convicted of aggravated assault against Hajtamiri, receiving a six-year sentence but credited for time served. Hajtamiri was abducted on January 12, 2022, by three men in fake police gear and has not been located since. Other individuals have been charged related to her disappearance and a previous attack on her.
