Adrian Houser, starting pitcher for the Chicago White Sox, faced challenges with sickness during his game against the Kansas City Royals but showcased resilience. Despite feeling unwell in the sixth inning, he completed six innings allowing one run on six hits and securing six strikeouts. His performance was pivotal in the White Sox's 4-1 win. Houser managed to escape a major jam in the fourth inning, demonstrating tactical awareness and adaptability, with praise from manager Will Venable for his veteran approach on the mound.
I've been kind of dealing with some sickness the last few days. I was running out of gas there in the last inning, almost had breakfast come up.
I felt like we had a good mix going, was just able to work ahead and work ahead in the count, so I think that helped a lot.
A big moment for Houser came in the fourth. The Royals had runners on second and third with no outs. Houser struck out Salvador Perez.
He's obviously got different ways to attack the zone. Different situations call for different things and he's adaptable and able to adjust to situations.
