Google Expands UCP Checkout To Search
"Google's UCP (Universal Commerce Protocol) has now expanded outside of AI Mode and has started appearing in the main section of search results. This example also shows the ads that are showing directly above the free listings, which have expanded rapidly in recent days."
"When you click 'Buy,' it automatically loads up your billing and shipping details and lets you just buy it fast, right from search."
Google's Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP) has expanded beyond AI Mode, allowing users to access UCP-powered checkout directly in search results. This feature is currently available for retailers like Wayfair, enabling quick purchases by automatically loading billing and shipping details. The integration of Google Pay is presently limited to free listings for Wayfair, with plans for expansion to other retailers such as Etsy and Target. Additionally, ads have increased visibility above free listings in search results.
