Oken announces last day, Richmond's Caspers bought, Clove & Hoof goes dark and more
"Caspers in Richmond will close soon. The last day of operation is May 16. The location will reportedly become a new restaurant under a new name and ownership that will also serve hotdogs. As the San Francisco Chronicle reported, the new owner is Courtland “Corky” Booze, a former Richmond city council member. Caspers was founded in 1934 on First Avenue in Oakland. The Richmond closure leaves locations in Oakland, Dublin, Hayward and Pleasant Hill as the last remaining Caspers restaurants."
"After a reader tip, NOSH called and stopped by the restaurant at 40th Street and Broadway during regular hours and it was closed. Also, Google has listed Clove & Hoof in as permanently closed. Nosh has reached out to get more information. The restaurant opened in 2014, specializing in whole animal butchery, but in 2022 switched to only selling prepared foods."
