Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and Circulate Capital formed a partnership to scale solutions tackling ocean plastic pollution across South and Southeast Asia. The collaboration combines the Foundation's global environmental influence with Circulate Capital's circular-economy investment expertise to accelerate funding for businesses that prevent plastic leakage and build sustainable coastal value chains. The partnership aims to mobilize private capital, protect marine ecosystems, and support local livelihoods through on-the-ground initiatives. South and Southeast Asia contribute nearly 70% of plastic entering oceans yet received only 10% of global plastic-circularity investment from 2018–2023. Improving recycling systems could cut emissions equivalent to closing 61 coal plants and reduce plastics end-of-life emissions by 10% by 2030.
