Alien: Earth will premiere on August 12, featuring the iconic Xenomorph and Facehuggers created entirely with practical effects. Director of photography Dana Gonzales emphasized the authenticity of the designs, noting that neither creature relies on CG. The production used various designs, including animatronics for Facehuggers, and promises more Xenomorph action compared to previous films. Gonzales highlighted advancements in stunt techniques that enhance the realism and intensity of the scenes, focusing on dynamics like flying Xenomorphs rather than simple jump scares.
It's 100% real. Even in Aliens, I think there's a lot of CG, and we're not doing any CG Xenomorph.
We have many Facehuggers that do different things. The fact that Wētā built these characters that do several things really well, means we can see them longer.
I think we designed something that is very photographable and scary and detailed. So it's not so much just coming out and scaring you [like a] jump scare.
