"partially admitted"
Two new suspects, a 37-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, were charged and incarcerated for alleged roles in the Louvre crown jewels theft, including theft by an organized gang and criminal conspiracy. Both suspects denied involvement. The woman’s lawyer said she is devastated and does not understand how she is implicated in the accusations. Five people were arrested earlier; three were released without charges. Two men aged 34 and 39 were charged and are believed to have forced entry into the Apollo Gallery; one’s DNA matched a getaway scooter and he was stopped at Charles-de-Gaulle with a one-way ticket to Algeria. French law mandates secrecy of investigations to protect police work and victims’ privacy.
