Fleet Primary School's Parents Association experienced a burglary where thieves stole items intended for their summer fair. Following this, parents created a fundraising page and raised over £1,400 to ensure the event could go ahead as planned. The treasurer noted the community's generous response and highlighted the importance of the fair in financing various school activities. Local businesses also provided direct support, showcasing the solidarity and resilience of the community in overcoming this setback.
"For us this has been a short sharp shock followed by a groundswell of generous open-hearted (and handed) support. This is a strong and cohesive community who are rising together to overcome this."
"The fair raises vital funds for activities not covered by standard school funding, including school trips, music, sporting, and play equipment, forest school activities and sensory resources."
