Imad Alarnab, to Open a Syrian Cafe, Deli and Restaurant at Somerset House
Briefly

Aram, a new cafe and restaurant, will open in Somerset House this autumn, founded by Imad Alarnab to celebrate Syrian cuisine. It will showcase produce imported from Syria for the first time in twelve years. The venue will feature a deli offering breakfast and lunch items, including various pastries and dips. The dining rooms will serve traditional Syrian dishes, and the fourth room will host charity events and cooking classes. Imad aims to reflect hope for Syria and introduce its cuisine to a wider audience.
The cafe, deli and restaurant, opening in the venue's 25th anniversary year, will be set across four rooms overlooking Somerset House's River Terrace, and will make use of Syrian produce, imported directly for the first time since war broke out twelve years ago.
The deli, open for breakfast and lunch, will feature a counter piled with pastries (like za'atar croissants), dips, breads, wraps and salads, and a bar serving coffees and Syrian mint tea.
Imad says, 'I feel hopeful for Syria after many years as it starts to open again, and opening Aram reflects that hope. Through opening Aram, I hope to introduce people to Syria and its cuisine in a way they haven't yet had the chance to see.'
