He started alongside teammates Freddie Freeman and Will Smith, while Clayton Kershaw pitched for the team. Ohtani emphasized the event's significance due to Kershaw's participation and Freeman's return to Atlanta. He enjoyed meeting fellow players, reflecting on a humorous moment with Robert Suarez regarding past games. Ohtani's performance included a pivotal single and a run scored. Overall, it marked a memorable occasion with personal achievements during his fifth All-Star appearance.
It was a special All-Star in the sense that Kershaw pitched today, and obviously Freddie returning to Atlanta. So in a sense, it was a special occasion for me.
I had the opportunity to meet new faces and guys that I never really got to meet in person. So it was enlightening to be able to see the person now face-to-face.
