The 2025 World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers announced they will commemorate their ninth title in franchise history on Monday, November 3 with a Championship Parade in Downtown Los Angeles and a special ticketed Championship Celebration at Dodger Stadium. Both the parade and celebration at Dodger Stadium will be televised in their entirety on SportsNet LA and local television channels (including CBS 2, NBC 4, KTLA 5, ABC 7, KCAL 9, and Fox 11) and also carried on the radio by AM 570.
In the bottom of the first, with Shohei Ohtani on the ropes, Bo Bichette hit a three-run home run to give the Jays the lead. It was just the second time in the series that they've scored first. But the Dodgers started to chip away at the lead. In the fourth, Teoscar Hernández hit a sacrifice fly to make it 3-1, then Tommy Edman hit a sacrifice fly to make it 3-2 in the top of the sixth.
He could be the leader of the most expensive collection of talent in baseball history. He could be the two-time World Series champion manager. He could be part of a dynasty. Don Mattingly said he never viewed his departure from the Dodgers in that context, however. And when he returns to Dodger Stadium this week as the bench coach of the Toronto Blue Jays, he doesn't expect to feel anything he wouldn't feel in a World Series game played at any other stadium.
Look, there is no doubt that a rotation featuring Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Blake Snell, Shohei Ohtani and Tyler Glasnow can get the Dodgers back on top and maybe even back to 100 wins. That group wasn't completely healthy in 2025 until late in the season, so they should produce more volume and more value in 2026. The bullpen will be better, especially if that's where Roki Sasaki ends up, but there are concerns with the age-related issues of the lineup. Freddie Freeman turns 36; Mookie Betts,
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts revealed that the 2025 World Series parade will be on Monday, Nov. 3. The Dodgers beat the Blue Jays in 11 innings in a wild Game 7 to become baseball's first back-to-back champion in 25 years. The 160-page coffee table book features The Times' award-winning reporting, commentary and photography. It highlights the standout performances of Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Shohei Ohtani and other key playmakers. The Dodgers' journey toward a rare back-to-back championship season began in Japan. It featured resilience amid injuries and adversity throughout the regular season, followed by a postseason run unlike any other that included two extra-inning World Series games. The book notes key contributions by more Dodgers stars, including Freddie Freeman, Will Smith, Mookie Betts, Kiké Hernández, Miguel Rojas and many others.
"You know, I don't want to get too far into it. I just arrived about 30 minutes ago. So there was some delays," he said. "I don't know if there was intent or not. But, man, the international stuff was a bear. But we made it. We made it."
In August 2024, the state of California declared every Nov. 1 as "Fernando Valenzuela Day" to coincide with the date the beloved Los Angeles Dodgers legend was born. Valenzuela passed away in October 2024 at the age 63, just three days before the Dodgers faced the New York Yankees in Game 1 of the World Series. California State Assemblymember Sharon Quirk-Silva introduced the measure for Fernando Valenzuela Day to highlight the positive impact he had on the Latino and Hispanic community.
UPDATE (Oct. 29, 1:10 p.m. PT): Andy Pages was replaced by Alex Call in the Los Angeles Dodgers lineup for Game 5, and Will Smith is batting second. Mookie Betts was dropped down to third. "I feel that that's the best way to win the game tonight," Roberts said of moving Smith into the spot Betts has occupied for most of the year. "So both players were alerted and both players are all on board. So that was a decision I made."
Packed between first and third base was probably the largest seated "Who's Who" galaxy ever to crowd into a single stadium... Edward G. Robinson, with his cigar and wife (not necessarily in that order)... Actor Jimmy Stewart rushing out to buy a new Japanese straw hat to shield wife Gloria from the sun... Comedian Ray Bolger getting laughs with his Army surplus helmet, on which he had painted, "L.A. DODGER BEANBALL PROTECTOR."
It was one of the ugliest ways to lose a World Series game in recent memory. A complete base running blunder by Addison Barger in the bottom of the ninth gave the Dodgers a 3-1 win to even the World Series at three games a piece. With runners on second and third and one out, Andrés Giménez hit a line drive to left field that Enriqué Hernandez came running in on to make the catch.
Blake Snell has two starts under his belt in the 2025 World Series for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and they've lost both of those games to the Toronto Blue Jays. After being touched up for five earned runs in Game 1 - he was back on the mound in Game 5 at home, and was once again saddled with the loss.
But for a split second as Glasnow threw the ball, the crowd got quiet and I was able to hear that the bat broke. So I got a really good jump on the ball. I came in, and halfway there the ball got in the lights and I was like, it's not the right time to stop and see where the ball is. Just keep going.
