Emmet Sheehan unexpectedly took the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers at PNC Park last week after Shohei Ohtani was scratched from his scheduled pitching start due to an illness. Sheehan held the Pittsburgh Pirates to five hits and two runs in 4.2 innings of work, but took his third loss of the season as the Dodgers were shut out.

Each of Teoscar Hernández, Michael Conforto, and , were unable to make plays that would've changed the outcome of the game, with the latter having the most difficult of the plays. Clayton Kershaw gave up four runs in the first inning due in part to Hernández's aforementioned error, but settled in well after that, ultimately leaving the game tied after five innings.

It was really cool. I had a lot of family and friends in the stands. That was probably the best part. It was awesome. I've been dreaming about pitching here for a long time, so it was cool.
