Blue Jays: Arizona Fall League Game 16 recap
"Starting the game for the Desert Dogs was Amalfi, and it didn't go great for the 24-year-old. He threw a scoreless first inning, allowing a single and a walk, balking the runners to second and third, but got out of it unscathed. The same cannot be said for the bottom of the second, as he allowed a lead-off double, gave up two walks, and was eventually tagged for four runs in the inning. Amalfi was pulled after an inning and two-thirds."
"Peterson was the fourth reliever out of the bullpen, and he had a tough game as well. He got a groundout to begin the bottom of the sixth, but allowed a walk, then a triple for an earned run. A groundout drove in another run, and after hitting a batter with a pitch, the left-handed reliever was pulled. The runner he was responsible for came in to score."
"In the sixth, Kasevich grounded out for the third time in the game before drawing a lead-off walk to begin the eighth. The shortstop stole second base and eventually came in to score the Desert Dogs' fourth run of the game. In his final plate appearance in the top of the ninth, Kasevich struck out swinging to go 0-4 with a walk and a strikeout."
The Glendale Desert Dogs fell 11-6 to the Mesa Solar Sox and dropped to 4-12 on the season. Four Toronto Blue Jays prospects appeared for the Desert Dogs in the Arizona Fall League game. Kasevich went 0-for-4 with a walk and a strikeout, recording multiple groundouts, a lead-off walk, a stolen base, and scoring once. Starter Amalfi allowed a lead-off double, two walks and was tagged for four runs, exiting after 1 2/3 innings. Relievers Peterson and Yeager surrendered additional runs, including a three-run hit that extended the Solar Sox lead.
