Bumble's paying users declined by 21.1% to 3.2 million in Q1 2026, continuing a trend from previous quarters. Despite a 14.1% drop in total revenue to $212.4 million, average revenue per paying user increased by nearly 9%. CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd described the decline as a deliberate shift towards prioritizing quality over quantity. Bumble is undergoing a major overhaul aimed at attracting Gen Z users and improving user compatibility through enhanced technology and a new recommendation engine.
