Roaches were observed emerging from various locations, such as the rice cooker, mop sink, and kitchen walls at Miami Grill. The state inspector flagged 11 violations, including five live roaches and multiple dead ones found under kitchen equipment. The presence of flies near the mop sink and dry storage area added to the sanitation issues. Standing water was noted on the kitchen floors, and clean containers were improperly dried, a condition known as 'wet nesting.' Following a re-inspection, Miami Grill was able to resume operations.
"Observed five live roaches coming out of the rice cooker by the back prep table ... two live roaches by the mop sink ... two live roaches on the wall next to walk-in cooler."
"Over five flies hung out in the air by the mop sink. Another three were by the dry storage area."
"Floors in the kitchen and the three-compartment sink area had standing water."
"Clean containers on a drying rack weren't set to air dry properly. That's called 'wet nesting.'"
