""LEAVE NOW or go to high ground or the highest floor of your home if you are in the evacuation area," city officials warned residents."
"Floodwaters cut off road access in and out of Haleiwa, and widespread flooding of roadways and low-lying areas is ongoing."
"Gov. Josh Green said that the Wahiawa Dam's water levels were at 84.73 feet when they first sounded the sirens to evacuate, nearly at the 85-foot threshold that causes concern."
""Things are very serious," Green told Hawaii News Now in a live report. "... We're seeing rapid spikes in surge of water. In some places, 3 or 4 feet of water on roads.""
Evacuation orders were issued for Waialua and Haleiwa on Oahu's North Shore as a kona low storm caused flash flooding and rising dam levels. Residents were warned to leave immediately or seek higher ground. Floodwaters have cut off road access, and significant runoff continues to create dangerous flooding conditions. The Wahiawa Dam is at imminent risk of failure, with water levels exceeding 85 feet. Officials activated the National Guard and Coast Guard in response to the severe situation.
