Orioles Notes: Henderson, Mateo, Urias
Briefly

Gunnar Henderson of the Baltimore Orioles reported good progress on his intercostal strain, feeling significantly improved as he prepares for Opening Day. He expects to be active and play in some Spring Training games leading up to the season. Given his key role as last year's AL Rookie of the Year and an All-Star, losing him would significantly impact the team's performance. The club is prioritizing his recovery and has options in place, but for now, they are focused on Henderson's return to the field.
"It's getting there," Henderson said, as relayed by Kubatko. "It's a lot better than what it originally felt like."
Henderson's "plan" is to be active and in the lineup for Opening Day against the Blue Jays on March 27."
Losing the shortstop for any amount of time would be devastating given that he was one of the top players in the entire sport last year.
The Orioles seem to be focused on preparing Henderson for the start of the season rather than potential alternatives.
