Gordon Ramsay Restaurants is in the process of acquiring the Le Gavroche site, with a premises licence transfer application submitted to Westminster Council. Le Gavroche, opened in 1967 by Albert Roux and Michel Roux Sr, was the first UK restaurant to earn three Michelin stars. It relocated to Mayfair in 1981 and has been a classic French fine dining establishment. Michel Roux Jr, who led the restaurant for many years, closed it in January 2024 for a better work/life balance. Matt Abé, former chef patron of Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, is rumored to be heading the new project.
