At least seven children were killed and two critically injured due to the partial collapse of a school roof in Rajasthan. The incident occurred at Piplodi Government School around 8:30 a.m. local time, affecting around 40 individuals inside the building. Eyewitnesses reported that recent heavy rainfall contributed to the collapse, and the school structure was reportedly dilapidated. Rescue operations concluded in the afternoon, and state officials have initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the incident. Authorities are ensuring that the injured receive proper medical treatment.
Seven children have lost their lives so far and 26 others are injured. Two of those children are critically injured and in the intensive care unit.
Eyewitnesses told the media that the roof suddenly caved in due to persistent heavy rainfall over the past few days and that the building had been in a dilapidated state.
State leaders announced that an investigation was to be conducted to determine the reason of the collapse.
Instructions have been given to the concerned authorities to ensure proper treatment for the injured children.
