LA's Museum of Jurassic Technology damaged by fire
Briefly

A fire broke out at the MJT on July 8, which Wilson attempted to tackle with fire extinguishers. His daughter and son-in-law arrived with a larger extinguisher and successfully doused the flames. Firefighters arrived shortly after and stated that a minute more could have led to losing the entire building. The aftermath involved significant smoke damage, described by Wilson as a creamy brown liquid covering all surfaces. Staff and volunteers have been repairing the damage, and donations for the museum's recovery are being encouraged.
Wilson described the smoke damage as 'if a thin creamy brown liquid had been evenly poured over all the surfaces-the walls, the vitrines, the ceiling, the carpets, and eyepieces, everything.'
Firefighters showed up shortly thereafter to stamp out any lingering embers and told Wilson, 'Just one more minute and you'd likely have lost the whole building.'
