"Mr Gibbons is understood to have been on a bus in the early hours of Sunday morning when a disagreement with others arose. But after he left the bus in Kildare town it is understood a row developed at Magee Terrace and there was an incident in which Mr Gibbons received a head injury. Magee Terrace is close to the garda station in the town. Mr Gibbons was then found unresponsive and rushed to Naas General Hospital."
"In a statement, gardaí said a post-mortem examination has been carried out, the results of which will not be released for operational reasons. Following the post-mortem examination, An Garda Síochána has now commenced a murder investigation. "Gardaí continue to investigate a serious assault that occurred in Kildare town in the early hours of Sunday. The man, aged in his 20s, who was found unresponsive on Magee Terrace at approximately 3:15am, has since passed away in hospital," they said."
