Here's our first look at Pokemon Champions, but we can't play until 2026
Briefly

Pokémon Champions features gameplay with team formations, stadium battles, and UI updates, allowing private or ranked matches. Players form teams from Pokémon Home or the available roster. Battles can be single or double formats, with V-Points used for stat adjustments and move changes. A percentage next to HP gauges indicates remaining health, and an escape button allows for conceding. The game is described as a new battle-focused experience that retains familiar mechanics. Scheduled for release on Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms in 2026.
Battles take place in a stadium surrounded by an NPC audience similar to the arena battles in Pokémon Sword and Shield.
Everything revolves around VP (V-Points): it's how Pokémon can adjust their stat points, change moves, or change their 'stat alignment' (Natures) for set prices.
Players can either transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Home or form a team via the available roster in Pokémon Champions.
Pokémon Champions will be available on Nintendo Switch and Android and iOS mobile devices sometime in 2026.
