YouTube Music is rolling out banner ads on the Now Playing screen for users who do not subscribe to its premium service. These ads appear in a rectangular format where the cover art usually is, complete with a 'Sponsored' label and options like 'Buy now.' This new feature is part of a redesign that has been undergoing tests for several months. Non-premium users typically experience ads between songs, while premium users enjoy an ad-free experience along with other additional features.
If you don't pay for YouTube Music, ads will appear between songs. The cover art is replaced by a rectangular image, with 'Sponsored' appearing in the bottom-left corner.
Some YouTube Music users are now seeing banner ads in between the cover art (which shrinks) and the other Now Playing controls.
