"Every animal responds differently, and it was incredible to watch their individual reactions to the sounds and rhythms throughout the session! A heartfelt thank you to Jason and his wife, Nicole, for not only being such passionate supporters of Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, but also for bringing this thoughtful and creative idea to life to help enhance the quality of care we provide to the animals who call Busch home."
"Grayson, the resident gray fox at Busch Wildlife Sanctuary also battled and beat throat cancer, in reference to Jason's recent successful battle against the disease."
Jason Newsted, former Metallica bassist and Jupiter, Florida resident, performed an acoustic concert at Busch Wildlife Sanctuary, the largest wildlife rehabilitation center in South Florida. The performance served as a music enrichment event designed to stimulate curiosity and reduce stress among the sanctuary's animals, which admit over 5,000 animals annually for rehabilitation. During the session, Newsted performed John Lennon's "Imagine" while animals responded individually to the sounds and rhythms. A gray fox jumped on his lap and licked his hand during the performance. The sanctuary praised Newsted and his wife Nicole for their support and creative contribution to enhancing animal care quality. Newsted is currently preparing for a summer tour with Jason Newsted & The Chophouse Band.
