A 55-year-old man, Jose Centeno, allegedly shot and killed his wife's boyfriend, Antonio Cantor, outside Cantor's home in College Point. The incident occurred shortly after Centeno's wife was reportedly visiting Cantor. Centeno and Cantor engaged in an altercation before Centeno fired three shots, hitting Cantor in critical areas. Cantor was transported to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Centeno surrendered to the police and has been charged with murder and illegal possession of a weapon. Domestic violence reports have surged by 40% citywide since the pandemic.
