Kelce equals Holmes as Chiefs' career TD leader
""He's the guy that's been here through the whole thing, being here with Coach [Andy] Reid the entire time. He helped set the culture of what it means to play for Coach Reid and for Kansas City. I was able to come in and have that guy to rely on. He's breaking all the records now. He's all about the team, so I wanted to make sure he gets that [ball], and hopefully we can get another ball for him later in the season when he breaks the record.""
""This place is special, man, and I love it here. In terms of the historical stuff, I'm still looking at the next game and the next catch and trying to get better.""
Travis Kelce scored a 10-yard touchdown that tied him with Priest Holmes for the Chiefs' franchise record at 83 career touchdowns. Patrick Mahomes retrieved the touchdown ball and handed it to a team staffer so Kelce could keep it. Kelce finished with six receptions on eight targets for 99 yards in a 28-7 win over the Washington Commanders. The victory was Kansas City's fifth in six games, each by double digits. Mahomes praised Kelce as a culture-setter who has been with Coach Andy Reid the whole time and emphasized Kelce's team-first approach. Kelce said he cherishes playing at Arrowhead and remains focused on getting better and the next game.
