New MTA screens bring real-time bus info to NYC streets
Briefly

The MTA and NYC Department of Transportation have launched digital screens that provide real-time bus arrival information at select bus stops, eliminating the need for apps. Installed on June 25 as part of a pilot program, these touch-screen devices are located in the Upper West Side and Queensborough Hill. They display accurate wait times for various bus lines and aim to enhance the commuter experience. Feedback from riders will be collected for 12 months to assess the technology's effectiveness and potential for expansion across the city.
The MTA and NYC Department of Transportation have rolled out slick new digital screens that display real-time arrival info right at the bus stop.
The touch-screen devices were installed at four locations citywide on June 25 as part of a year-long pilot program aimed at making bus travel smarter.
The signs, created by Urban Solar, are battery-powered and pole-mounted, showing accurate minute-by-minute wait times for upcoming buses.
Two different screen types are being tested and the DOT is actively collecting rider feedback via user surveys over the next 12 months.
