"NEW YORK CITY (PIX11) - A nasty storm is making its way through New York City. Flood warning NYC The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens and the Bronx Thursday afternoon through 5:30 p.m on Thursday. One to two inches of rain is expected with brief periods of heavy rainfall, according to NWS. Poorly-drained and low-lying areas are most at risk."
"Coastal flooding A coastal flood advisory was declared for parts of Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island, Queens and Long Island. Between one and two feet of inundation above ground level is expected near waterfronts and shorelines. The New York City Emergency Management team said " torrential rainfall " could cause flooding. "Expect sudden bursts of heavy rain, reduced visibility, and possible power outages from downed trees or power lines," NYCEM said on social media."

An intense storm produced heavy rain, gusty winds, coastal flooding, and localized street inundation across New York City boroughs and Long Island. The National Weather Service issued flood warnings and a coastal flood advisory, forecasting one to two inches of rain and one to two feet of inundation near shorelines. Wind gusts up to about 50 mph were expected, and some areas experienced outages affecting roughly 530 customers. Transit service was disrupted, including a partial suspension of the G train due to flooded tracks. Rain totals ranged around 1.8 to 2.5 inches at area airports and stations, with Central Park recording a daily rainfall record.
