On August 10, 2025, a tsunami measuring 1,578ft hit Tracy Arm fjord in Alaska, making it the second highest recorded tsunami. Triggered by a landslide due to climate change, the wave occurred early in the morning, sparing tourists. Eyewitness accounts and data helped reconstruct the event, revealing rapid glacier retreat and subsequent rock collapse into the water. The tsunami caused significant environmental damage, scraping vegetation and altering the fjord's landscape.
