Giant forest trolls are coming to the South Bay in June
Briefly

Thomas Dambo's exhibit "Trolls: Save the Humans" opens at Filoli gardens on June 7, showcasing gigantic trolls made from recycled materials. This installation features six colossal trolls, each representing a whimsical exploration of environmental themes, particularly recycling and nature appreciation. Visitors are encouraged to contemplate the trolls' moral quandary regarding humanity's environmental impact. The exhibit blends artistry with purpose, aiming to engage families and children in meaningful conversations about trash reduction, sustainability, and the beauty of gardens. Running through early November, it promises a unique outdoor experience for attendees.
According to the artist's lore, these sometimes 15-foot abominations - sorry, magical creatures - are locked in an eternal debate on whether to save humans despite their polluting, destructive ways, or (chomp chomp!) just devour them.
The outdoor exhibition will fuse fairytales, whims and monumental scale to inspire visitors to explore themes such as recycling and reusing trash, the importance of plants and gardens, art and more.
