Brave browser will block Microsoft Recall from tracking your online activity
Briefly

Brave has disabled Microsoft's Recall feature for all tabs on its browser to protect user privacy. Recall automatically takes screenshots of user activity, raising privacy concerns especially in sensitive cases like intimate partner violence. By claiming every tab is private, Brave prevents Recall from accessing user data. Users can toggle the Recall feature on in settings if desired. Recall has been in limited preview since April and was officially rolled out for Copilot+ PCs in a recent Windows 11 update, enhancing Windows users’ search capabilities through AI.
"Given Brave's focus on privacy-maximizing defaults and what is at stake here (your entire browsing history), we have proactively disabled Recall for all Brave tabs."
"Brave will tell the operating system that every tab is private, which will automatically prevent Recall from snooping on it."
"To pull off this trick, Brave is using Microsoft's own technology against it."
"Currently available only on Copilot+ PCs, Recall has been in preview mode just for Windows insiders since April."
