VRM described her as a tireless champion for expanding homeownership opportunities, especially for underrepresented communities. Before VRM, she was director of REO sales operations at Freddie Mac and earned Freddie Mac's Premier Achievement Award multiple times. She held a BA from Mills College, an MBA and a Doctorate of Business Administration from Walden University. She led church financial literacy sessions for women and was remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and boss.
