Charlie Kirk launched Turning Point USA at 18 to organize young conservatives in response to prevailing progressive ideas in his Chicago-area high school during the Obama presidency. Turning Point USA grew into a national network with more than 800 college chapters, millions of online followers, several affiliated nonprofits and roughly $100 million reported annual revenue in 2024. Kirk became a prominent voice in the MAGA youth movement and played a role in national politics, including President Trump’s 2024 victory. He was shot while hosting an event in Orem, Utah, and died at age 31; supporters praised his connection with young conservatives.
