Gay S Club star reveals crystal meth addiction: 'I'm not sure how I'm still here'
Briefly

Jon Lee, formerly of S Club 7, revealed his struggle with crystal meth addiction during the band's peak. At one point, he spent around £250 weekly on the drug. His addiction brought on psychotic episodes, including destructive behavior. In 2019, he was sectioned due to paranoia. Lee reflected on the impact of his father's death in 2014 on his substance use. He sought to recover by traveling and adopted a rescue dog, which reinvigorated his purpose. In 2022, he opened three rescue centers and reconnected with family.
"I didn't even recognise myself at that time. Sometimes, in the midst of one of the psychotic episodes, where I'd be smashing my flat up with a hammer, I'd catch sight of myself in the mirror and say: 'What the f**k?'"
"I'm not sure how I'm still here."
"I was a danger to [myself] and expressed regret at putting my family through such an ordeal."
"The loss of my dad to motor neurone disease in 2014 may have spurred on my drug use."
