Alf Clausen, The Simpsons' Longtime Composer, Dead at 84
Briefly

Alf Clausen, the esteemed composer known for scoring over 560 episodes of The Simpsons, has passed away at the age of 84 after a long illness. His career spanned 27 years, during which he won two Emmy Awards and received 30 nominations. Clausen was known for composing unique music each week with a large orchestra. His sudden firing in 2017 due to cost-cutting raised issues of ageism and disability discrimination, leading to a lawsuit which he later dropped. He also worked on several well-known films and TV series.
I think that's one of the reasons they've kept me all these years: they were looking for somebody who could score all those different types of music in small clip-form.
In a cost-cutting measure, Fox fired Clausen in 2017, leading the composer to sue the network for ageism and disability discrimination two years later.
