Kurtenbach: I see the vision for the 49ers' much-maligned offensive line and it's just fine
Briefly

The article analyzes the current state of the NFL's offensive lines, highlighting the Philadelphia Eagles as the top unit. While the San Francisco 49ers may not have an elite offensive line, they are relying on coach Chris Foerster to develop their roster without high-profile signings. Key players like Ben Bartch and Austen Plesants are set for starting roles. The team has depth and affordability which is crucial given the financial pressures of other positional contracts. This strategy reflects a trend towards assembling solid linemen without overcommitting financially.
This time last year, I wrote that the 49ers were going all-in on offensive line coach Chris Foerster. They didn't need to sign a big-time free agent or draft a lineman; they would trust that Foerster would take whatever the Niners gave him and he'd turn it into a good-enough unit.
The Niners' offensive line is not good, but it's not terrible, either. And there should be optimism that this season, it might even be OK.
Even if the high-end talent isn't there, the 49ers' offensive line has some depth this season. And more importantly, it's cost-effective.
Sure, the Niners can spend on offensive linemen; money isn't that tight - but they'd prefer to put the money in other places.
